Gender, Health & Development

This Short course aims to provide participants with the knowledge to critique gender approaches to health and development and the skills to be able to plan programmes which are gender sensitive in their design. Although the focus is largely on women, the construction of male gender and its implications for health and development are also examined. Participatory approaches for collecting and analysing data on gender are described, ensuring participants are able to combine qualitative with quantitative data as a baseline for planning interventions.
