    The International Association for the Study of Sexuality, Culture and Society (IASSCS) is pleased to announce the successful grantees selected for funding as part of the IASSCS Emerging Scholars International Research Fellowship Program. 

  • February 2012 - IASSCS Secretariat meeting in San Francisco

    In mid January a meeting a with the IASSCS secretariat and the members of the Research and Training committee was held in San Francisco (USA) to review proposals and discuss ongoing activities.

    In line with IASSCS‘interest in strengthening the field of social and cultural research on sexuality globally, we launched the IASSCS-Ford Foundation Research Grant Program. The call for proposals closed on January 5th 2012. 

  • January 2012 - IASSCS Publication Mentoring Program

    The IASSCS Publication Mentoring Program’s goal is to provide an opportunity for young and/or less experienced junior researchers and/or activists on sexuality from the Global South to receive feedback from more experienced researchers in two categories : conceptual/methodological and editorial. Thirty five proposals were received and we are happy to announce that thirteen researchers have been matched with mentors. The program will end in June 2012.

    Ani Colekessian, a young researcher who was invited to chair a panel on sexual education at the 2011 VIII IASSCS International Conference and recipient of the 2011 IASSCS Award for Best Paper, has just published an online account of her experience at the conference.

  • September 2011 - 2nd Call for papers for IASSCS Publication Mentoring (...)

    We are pleased to announce the IASSCS Publication Mentoring Program. The goal of this pre-submission paper review program is to provide an opportunity for young and/or less experienced junior researchers and/or activists on sexuality from the Global South (who are currently living/studying there) to receive feedback from more experienced researchers. This program will also provide an important learning and networking experience for paper writers and mentors alike. 

  • August 2011 - IASSCS Eighth Conference paper award results

    Within the framework of its Eighth Conference “Naming and Framing : The Making of Sexual (In)Equality,” which took place in the Facultad de Medicina at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain from July 6th to 9th, 2011, the International Association for the Study of Sexuality, Culture and Society offered an award for the best paper and the best poster presented during the event.

    NAMING AND FRAMING, the making of sexual (in)equality, is the name of our next conference in July 6-9 in Madrid. This time we had over 800 submissions from all over the world making the work of the peer-review committee extremely difficult due to the high quality of the abstracts received.
