Cayetano Heredia University was founded in 1961. It is recognized as the main biomedical sciences campus in Peru and one of the most important in Latin America. Its School of Public Health, named after Carlos Vidal Layseca, carries out important studies and programs in sexual and reproductive health and rights, and offers a masters program in gender, sexuality and reproductive health.
